A sad day…

After very careful consideration, and with much sadness, I’ve decided it’s time to wrap the business up.

It’s been a wonderful year helping people move their bikes/belongings around, and I’m really grateful for the opportunity to have done so. I’ve got some fantastic memories to take with me.

I’m especially thankful to Pure Triumph Woburn and Eclipse Motorcycles in Bletchley for their repeated custom, and to all my friends and family who tagged me in posts asking for recommendations.

So it’s goodbye from me, goodbye from Carters Transportation, and thanks for all the fish…

January update…

Happy New Year to you all!

I made a new years resolution to ride more this year, so this was me on 2nd January, out enjoying some of the local back roads (and taking a few photos for an owners group photo challenge…).

The business is coming up to a year old soon, and while the cost of living crisis has forced me back into full time IT employment, I indend to keep the business going for as long as I possibly can.

I love being able to help people, be it to transport someone’s pride and joy for whatever reason, try and reduce someones stress while moving, collecting something they’ve bought/won/acquired from the many websites available, or the few times this year I’ve helped people with the sad job of a house clearance.

To be able to continue, I need to break even each month. Diesel prices are creeping down again, so I won’t be putting my prices up, give me a shout, and see how I can help you during evenings and weekends!

I’d rename the company Out-of-Hours Transportation, but I like having my family name on the van!

September update…

6(ish) months! What a start it’s been. Business is doing well, several repeat clients, I’ve met some great people, and helped every single one of them.

Thought I’d do a collage of some of the jobs I’ve completed…

It’s been an absolute pleasure, and look forward to many more.

What can we help you with over the next 6 months?

August update…

Been a little quiet posting, but still been busy!

A few of the jobs weve completed this month. “New” bikes delivered, breakdowns taken to garages, house moves, a learner to her test, and didn’t get a pic of it, but helped the bike club I’m in transport the marquees, cooking equipment etc from storage to our Custom Show.

Bookings being taken for September, what can we help you with?

June update…

Another month has flown by, I’m better at updating my FB and LI pages, but will try and keep on top of this better.

DIY supplies for a neighbour, Stony Live road signs, transporting and helping erect a marquee, and a stand at Castlethorpe Duck Race (glamourously assisted by my better half!), and a couple of jobs for Pure Triumph under our belts.

Really like the Africa Twins, and I’ve fallen in love with the Trident!

July’s shaping up to be a corker, will post again tomorrow with what I’ve been up to this week!

Strike a pose…

Spent a couple of hours with Jonathan Taylor of Aniseed Photography the other week, here’s some of the fantastic photos he took!

To say I’m pleased with the way the van has come together is an understatement, really looking forward to getting more miles done, and happy customers satisfied!

As always, anything you need moving, drop me an eMail/text/WhatsApp (in case I’m driving), and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

D.

On a roll…

Great day at Twisted Iron yesterday, some lovely bikes, and a great rideout (https://fb.watch/cCzo1PDLCi/)

Got a call as I was about to leave, a gentleman I know from a local bike club had broken down and needed recovering (https://www.facebook.com/carterstransportationservices/posts/159362979900003)

Today, I’ve spent a couple of hours visiting a number of bike shops and vintage/antique shops to drop off business cards and flyers, some of which I had very positive feedback from. Another loop planned for Friday heading south.

Anything you need moving, give me a shout!

Great progress today…

Shiny new Hexagrip/phenolic floor is in! Thank you MK Ply Lining!

Shame to refit the old ply lining, but a lick of paint makes all the difference, and it’s perfectly serviceable.

Also picked up new wipers, and replacement LED bulbs for the load area at Bedford Battery. Little things, but it all adds up.

Unfortunately got a puncture somewhere along the way, so now have a shiny pair of new front tyres too. Thank you The Garage in Wolverton.

Picked up my new business cards, looking very nice, and our branded clothing is being collected Saturday, thanks to 2 & 2 Printers.

I’m also planning to fit the ramp on Saturday, so barring sign writing, that’s the van sorted!

So, if anyone needs anything moving, please feel free to give me a shout, and we’ll see what we can do for you!

Slowly, slowly…

Our first van has arrived! Photos to follow once it’s been cleaned and sign written.

The ramp for it should be here tomorrow as well, facilitating very easy loading of motorbikes, large items of furniture, or anything else that’d easily wheel around on a sack truck!

Clothing is imminent, as are business cards and flyers. Big thanks to Stuart for the design!

Road Haulage Association and Hows My Driving memberships complete too, stickers going on the van with the sign writing.

See you all on the road soon!
